Girls’ Missionary Auxiliary
The Girls’ Missionary Auxiliary (GMA) is a church-sponsored missions organization for girls in churches of the Baptist Missionary Association of America. GMA is sponsored by the Women’s Missionary Auxiliary and is a discipleship program for girls in grades four through twelve.
The program consists of nine steps. If a girl starts on
the Forward Steps in the fourth grade and continues through the twelfth, she can devote a full year to each step. A full year is not required; a girl may complete her steps in fewer years, especially if she enters the program later than the fourth grade.
As a girl advances in the Forward Steps, she will gain knowledge that can influence her entire life. She will memorize scriptures, study the church covenant, read mission books, learn what Baptist believe, become familiar with BMA missions, and study the life of Christ.
Not only do girls learn a lot, they also have the opportunity to laugh a lot. GMA is a place for slumber parties, houseparties with other GMA groups, and National GMA Retreat in
If GMA sounds like a group you would like to have at your church, we have a Youth Auxiliary Team ready and willing to help you get started. This team is available to come to your church and present a workshop that will give you everything you need to get started.
We also can help with other BMA youth auxiliaries. Sunbeams is a wonderful Bible and mission program for children from birth through the third grade. Galileans is a BMA discipleship program for boys in grades four through twelve.
